Organic Vs. Advertising

We break our SEM services into 2 types: search optimization (organic SEO) & search ads (Google advertising). The major difference is that organic SEO is a strategy of best practices implemented on your website to increase traffic over time. In comparison, Google Advertising is a more finite strategy that gathers leads/sales quickly by purchasing clicks on an ad promoting a certain offer in your business.

Organic SEO In Detail

Implementing an Organic SEO strategy is not as simple as contacting Google and asking them to list your site. Instead, you must use proper keywords, headers, linking, blogging and more to ensure that Google (& other search engines!) can easily read your site & decide to display it during relevant searches.

Google Advertising In Detail

Google Advertising is a strategy based entirely around the purchase of clicks during searches that are likely to result in a purchase from your business. We help explore your offer, analyze the best keywords to target, and draft/monitor your ads to constantly improve your results and ROI.

Non-Exclusive Strategies

The goal of each of these strategies varies greatly, and there is no universally “better” strategy. Organic SEO can take some time to see noticeable results, but these benefits will last a long time and improve the overall quality of your website. Google Advertising can result in quick sales, but requires ad spend and generally only provides benefits as long as a campaign is actively running. A business looking to reach both their long-term and short-term goals will use both strategies at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for search optimization?

For us to create an Organic SEO strategy for your business, all you really need is a built-out website with content that you would like to display on Google. That said, having more content on your website (i.e. pages & text) will allow us to build a more thorough strategy. We also recommend that your website has an active blog, for the best results possible.

What do I need for search ads?

With the search ads plan, we will help explore your offer, draft your ads, and monitor results. There is little required on your end beyond your approval of the materials we create and the ads we have prepared on behalf of your business.

How long until I see results?

The speed of your results depends drastically on your plan.

Search Optimization is a slower, long-term strategy. While it is very effective and can provide incredible results, most businesses will not see noticeable results until at least 3 months of work. This can vary but ultimately, it is up to Google when they will crawl your website and reflect the changes we have made.

Alternatively, search ads can bring in results significantly faster. Most of the time, within the first month you will start to see some traction. However, once you stop running ads and putting money into Google, those leads will stop coming in.

Therefore, we also offer our search combo plan which includes both search engine optimization strategies and Google ad management. This gives you a good overall strategy to get quicker results and a long-term solution.

Is ad spend included with Google Advertising?

The search ads plan does not include ad spend. Our price includes offer exploration as well as the drafting and management of your ads. Ad spend is money that will be paid directly to Google and is based on how many users interact with your ad (PPC). We require that you put a credit card on file with Google to cover these charges and we recommend an initial ad spend of at least $800/mo.

Which plan is best for me?

The best way to determine which plan is right for you is to decide if your primary goals are long-term or short-term. If you would like a quick boost in sales over a set period of time, we recommend search ads. If you would like to build up your brand over a longer period of time and see lasting results, we recommend search optimization. Finally, if you want a great overall strategy to see the biggest impact, our search combo plan is best for you.
